About

Crystal Whittaker, LMFT

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Louisville, KY. I work with adults, kids, couples, and families. I have a great deal of experience treating individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, major/minor life changes, as well as those just feeling a little “stuck.” I also bring extensive experience in treating victims of trauma, specifically child sexual abuse as well as adults who were victimized as children. Additionally, I am skilled at helping families resolve conflict, improve communication, and develop new, happier ways of interacting. Lastly, I specialize in couples therapy as a means of improving various aspects of romantic relationships as well.

I am trained in numerous therapy models, including but not limited to: structural family therapy, strategic family therapy, solution focused brief therapy, emotionally focused couples therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy,  trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, motivational interviewing, EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), PCIT (parent child interaction therapy), and many others. I utilize an integrative approach to treatment in order to help best serve you and your current needs.

I received a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX in 2007. Prior to that, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN in 2004, where I studied Sociology, Psychology, and Child Development & Family Studies.
